Alicia Bueno specializes in monumental sculptures making
her customer's dreams come true.
Alicia Bueno
Born in Mexico City in 1956. At the age of fourteen she starts formally drawing and painting with the painters Mario Catalá and José Barón. From 17 to 21 she took sculpture lessons with the professors Jorge Alarcón and Saúl Moreno. From 1976 to 1977 she was an apprentice of the sculptor Jorge Alarcón, a year later, she wins a scholarship to study in the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy.
Simultaneously Alicia creates sculptures for La Scala of Milan, one of the most famous Opera theatres in the world. In 1982 she extends her sculpture studies at the Instituto Regional de Bellas Artes in Cuernavaca, Morelos. Since the age of 18 she provides drawing, mural painting and sculpture lessons.
In 1978 she opens her first Gallery in Valle de Bravo. Estado de México. Six years later, Alicia opens two Galleries in Cuernavaca Morelos. From 1973 until today Alicia has participated in many private and collective exhibitions in Mexico and abroad. Her work includes sculptures in bronze, marble, stone, wood, metal and glass reliefs. Alicia lives and works in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco since 1999.
Since 1994 her work has been exhibited in various galleries in Puerto Vallarta: Arte de las Americas, Dante, Art by Design, at Galeria Uno, Galería EM, NordSouth, Galería Hakari in the Four Seasons Hotel in Punta Mita.
Currently she showcases a collection of full-size pieces of her most representative work all around the Four Seasons Hotel’s premises. Alicia specializes in monumental bronze sculptures making her customer's dreams come true through art commissions.
In January 2009 Alicia inaugurated Dream Studio, facilitating a space and the experts so that international artists lodge and develop their creations successfully. Dream studio is the only Mexican creative business incubator for artists and design makers. Formed by a team of creative talent, the studio is brimming with cutting edge sculpture and painting. It exists solely to nurture creative talent, from first beginnings through to international success. The studio can house up to 15 practitioners at the incubator in central Puerto Vallarta, all benefiting from affordable studio working space, one-to-one business mentoring and public selling opportunities. Alicia's studio is open to the public from Tuesday to Friday 9:00-3:00 p.m.
